hi all,iv heard a few times people talking about doing the tdc swap over, and that this will advance ignition by 4 degrees, and making the car more responsive??is this true?is it worth doing on a standard engine running standard boost?and how is it done:confused:

what disadvantage does advancing the timing give?, other than meaning you have to run the higher octane fuel.

Complete waste of money using higher octane fuel unless you're running right on the edge of detonation, and why would you want to do that?!

RON wise it's the same isn't it? Whether or not it's better I've no idea?

With fuel you also need to look at the mon numbers, you will find they differ somewhat from the ron numbers

First post!

I'll be trying this tonight. Great article. Heading to Santa Pod tomorrow so might be fun to see if it makes a difference. I'm running 50/50 water/methanol injection which has made things pop and bang before coming on boost so I'm hoping that advancing the timing might help that. We shall see.....
