ye i thought as much.. but my first gear is literally like a normal car lol.. crappp!! i put a machined out t2 .35 exaust housing which i havent found has helped much. Im thinking of putting my other housing back... but in 2 minds.

what would be better... a machined out t2 .35 or t25 .49 with custom elbow (enlarged i guess)

What sort of t28 is it? What are the sizes of the wheels? Is it journal bearing or roller bearing? My old t28 rb worked a treat full boost around 4000rpm. I would not bother with a exhaust housing smaller than a .49

you got a rev limiter?

advance ign by 4 degrees doing the tdc swap (make it feel more responsive)

and clutch it :) i had a T28 once just used to clutch it all the time really you can take it up to 6.5k on the revs no prob as your cam will be cutting in from 3.7-7k (if memory serves me right)

big turbo = big lag but big boost

smaller turbo = less lag but not as much big boost....

up to you

i always found a good T25 to be the happy medium (but my VNT rocks :cooter: )

How can you tell him to advance up the ignition when you dont know what sort of boost he is running

if he is running a new turbo im sure he wont be running anything stupid......

but anyways....

what boost you running mate?

Why would he not be running alot, I banged mine on went straight out testing at 24psi? Take into consideration comp ratio, fuel type, boost etc before telling someone to wind on the ignition or it will all end in tears......

well call me stupid but if your putting a T28 i would assume that you have got your fueling sorted to run Big boost and also with a piper cam in there i was only trying to surgest to make it more resposive

now when i buy or fit a new turbo i dont wack it up to 24PSI i take my time making sure everything else is in order......15 PSI then 20 so on and so forth....

i know you dont have to "run in" turbos but i would rather find a prob at 15psi than 24psi

also the tdc adv by 4.4 degrees and the only thing you have to make sure is

A Fueling is ok

B high octane fuel is used

now i again assume most ppl do or will run high octane fuel with a T28 set up and piper cam

so if my assumptions have given anyone the wrong information i do apologies.....

t28 will always be laggy its the nature of that type of turbo:)

You dont have to run big boost though do you, the t28 will make more power at the same boost level as a t25.

I didnt just go and ''whack it up to 24psi'' my previous setup was set up to provide more than enough fuel for 24psi, and I didn't go bang....:)

I run a T28, mine is well on boost by 3.5k. If your not feeling it in first gear something is wrong.............

I've run a few variations of "t28" turbos and the one thing that I've noticed is that you will struggle to find good boost in 1st, going into 2nd.

You do have to learn the characteristics of the turbo/engine spec for the maximum grin factor :D

I wouldn't worry. If you are, look at investing in another turbo or speak to Adam L for spec advice :agree:

i run a t28 rb with a .64 turbine housing i get full boost around 4000k and rev to 7000rpm and some time more.:ashamed::)

unless your doing a full throttle launch i wouldn't be looking for it, id much rather a rolling start..

i have spookys old lagtronic developments turbo fitted with extra lag and to say its got some lags:eek:

once 1sts out the way and it come in the higher end of second gear:smokin:
