What are peoples thoughts on this type of heat management for the exhaust system, worth while or just a gimick. Do they use this technology on f1, wrc? Any thoughts appricated

Can you justify the cost, and it cracking after short periods of time?

Heat wrap, its a damn sight cheaper and doesn't fall off when it gets hot

Well i'm gonna disagree, ive had my manifold, turbine housing and down pipe done and i've had exhaust temps as high as 1000C and it didnt crack or anything.

Try camcoats as they were spot on with me :)

Ive seen one company http://www.zircotec.com/page/home/1 and apparantly they offer a 3 year warranty. All comes down to how much they charge I suppose, any more than 200 nicker and they can swivel for it.

retro ford magazine did an article on this ,and the ceramic coating was slightly better than exhaust wrap(15% better )but was a LOT more money ,there conclusion...... go with the wrap and spray it with a high temp spray once fitted to weather proof it :smokin:

heatwrap is ****!!1 teh DEI stuff is the best and give it 6 months before it rots off! catches your oil from leaks and them sets your car on fire!!!

Seen it happen a lot with Subarus!

I do have my downpipe wrapped but i will get it coated!

The company in Oz that made my custom exhaust said they could do both but, in their experience there is less chance of cracking if you do one or the other. They never explained why they thought it was that way?

I had my old kay-tech manifold coated and that never cracked the ceramic coating, however the weld did lol... Think I used cam coat, but was a long time ago now.
