Its been done before a few times, don't think its been very successful at all though.

Just trying to get it to work right and fuel right from what i heard/seen, i've known of a few people try it.

To be honest mate for the hassle your not going to gain much from it, more advantage going EFI than twin carb

Just by doing the carbs won't get you 300bhp, you'll need alot more than just fancy bits and of the shelf tuning parts. Takes quite alot of work, development and tuning to get to 300bhp.

Good luck though mate, as you say see how it goes ;)

I once toyed with i idea of using a dellorto dhla 44 carb, it has a seprate enrichment circuit for boost and lots of diffrent auxiliary tubes and venturis.

Is that the one that was fitted to the Lancia?

No it was used on a lotus esprit turbo, its a twin carb like a 45 weber. I did mention it before but got shot down in flames even though the guy who shot me down had never tryed it.

a ruff spec of what i got an tell me if 300 bhp is in target,

forged pistons+rods
steel liners
piper 300 cam
stage 3 k tec head
tubular manifold
k tec ballistics turbo
if the 2 carbs work
side exit
2 1/2 down pipe
more but lost the paperwork

I think the problem you will have is knowing which carb to tune?? i think it'd be easier with a tubular manifold then you could measure egt in 1 and 4 and not have the gasses mixing. Or have seperate lambda sensors. cheapest option probably to do identical adjustments on both but it wouldnt be ideal, carbs never seem to tune the same.

IMO the effort involved your probably best going efi.

What does a stage 3 head from K-tec consist of these days? a little work with a die grinder? Whats a ballistics turbo? What tube manifold do you have? the o.e cast one is pretty good. If I were you I would aim for a genuine 230-240 first before you go chasing the magic 300hp. Are you trying to achive this on race fuel?

it's not what you have. it's how it set up. how are you going to watch the fueling? good luck with it bud.

this sounds like an interesting thing to do if only someone has the skills to get it fit and work. hell if reyland can get a nissan skyline gearbox on his escos then surely this can be done

a ruff spec of what i got an tell me if 300 bhp is in target,

forged pistons+rods (dont need them)
steel liners (dont need them)
piper 300 cam :agree:
stage 3 k tec head (dont need that)
tubular manifold (stick with oe)
k tec ballistics turbo (get adam L to build you one will be lots better)
if the 2 carbs work (dont need twin carbs)
side exit :agree:
2 1/2 down pipe:agree:

thats my 2 pence worth if you spend your money on a decent turbo getting the fuling right and the cam timmed in you wont need all the rest of that and it will save you £££££££

depends if you just want to be able to say that your engine has all them bits on

its not that im just buying it to say it really just thought better bit for a little more reliability. also my mate who is a welder by trade has fitted it and got the pipe work accelerator cable etc on seems like it will work messin witt it on the stand working, just see what goes when it goes in. ill prob be at silverstone in it so hope it works

If you're chasing that kind of (genuine) power you won't have any kind of reliability, trust me! :wasntme:
