ok i have read two ways.....just take one plug out at a time and crank with IGN off and WOT and the other which is all plugs out.......

now i assume the first way is correct?

also it states that the engine must be run for 10-15 mins....is this correct?

please just a difinative answer please :)

Yes engine needs to be warm when running the test so yes again:agree:

why all plugs out when it states on the tester to do one at a time then replace plug and move on?

Surely not whilst your checking the Compression?! :confused::confused: 30 Seconds is enough?!

One plug out at a time, hold the throttle fully open, and crank until the tester gauge needle moves no further.

engine turns over easyer giving you a more accurate result.
Also help reduce stress on battery and starter when crancking

you should do.

they probably say one at a time to stop muppets getting the plug leads all mixed up. I've always taken them all out.

I will add if any of the results are alot lower than the other do a wet test matey, by putting a teaspoon of oil into the cylinders that are down and running the test again and post rules on the dry test and the wet test.

can someone bring a comp test to nat day as mine decided to chew the rubber seal and i couldnt get it to seal......

fit PTFE tape to the thread and it'll work fine. :p

could be worse, you could have tried to heat a bolt under the car with a gogas gun, and proceed to melt the plastic fuel line under the car.....:ashamed:

tried PTFE didnt seem to want to seal....i will try and bodge something up :)
