It seems both my r5's just hate holding oil.

My current one originally leaked oil from the timing chain cover and the seal that goes in it, resealed it and put a fresh seal in , and it still leaked, so i look and it appeared to be coming from the bottom edge of the seal, i took some sealant and sealed the seal to the timing cover around the ege..

Hey presto no oil leak, let the car get to temp, no oil leak,... perfect..

Took it for a hard drive yesterday, ...... Oil leak !!!!

Sounds about right for a gtt dj:(

All i can suggest is jack the car up, use a good sealant (i use window bond) Brake cleaner all the oil off & let it go off for 24hrs then it might last for a while if your lucky.

Got to say i've not had one leak for years, i'll have to read what make of sealent i use as it works bloody well.

If it does leak only real way to seal it up properly is to take it off and seal it all around, doesn't work that well just bolbing sealent around the edges as oil will always get past it.

it dosent seem to be the timing cover this time make, seems to be the actual seal again, but around the edge..

Find out what your using mark, i just use loctite most the time.
