Where I can find one?

My problem is too loud low frequence noise. I heard that there are somewhere electrical chokes that can be adjusted so that it will increase exhaust flowing speed and eliminate too loud noises from exhaust system.

I have been looking from internet, but I havent found seller yet. Can someone help me in this?

I have good silencers and so on, but too loud noise bothers me.

A friend of mine had some ex drift car 5 door skyline, it was a complete weapon but unfortunatly he found the old plod pulling him left right and center, the main problem was the noise of the thing, however he had one of the adjustable valve digareedoo's fitted and it was brilliant.

:agree:

Apexi also do something similar.

Might be easier (and cheaper) to simply fit a silencer box inline.

Something like that, but cheaper :cooter:

There seems to be huge difference in prices...I found one that is used Audi S3 and it was 170€.

You mean whole silencer? I have actually 2 silencers and not the cheapest ones, but it is too noisy. That is why I am looking for some extra silencing solution.

Those valves are extremely restrictive and are well known for seizing.

Ok. Good to know. My goal is to achieve 260-270 bhp in future (now 232) and therefore I dont want too restrictive solution. All other proposals are more than welcome.

Smaller dia' tailpipe.

That is my next step. It seems that there are very few tail pipes that will change size from 2,5" to 2". Usually changes are something like 2,5" to 4". Where to find one? It should short too...4-7", but not more.

I heard that Tanabe (others too) sell muffler silencers. Some sources say that it wont drop power dramatically, some say that it will drop power from top, and some say that it will drop power about 3-5 bhp from whole "curve".

One thing certain, it will drop sound level 30%+ .

Cost is approximately 20-50 euros.

the exhaust choke will only strangle performance when it's shut, and if your trying to be quiet then you won't be exercising the performance surely. silencers make a difference too, I changed the one in my k-tech sidey to a smaller one and now get full boost at 3k rather than 3500

That is good to know. Thanks!

I made one test today. I replaced the original tail pipe (2,5" -> 3") with straight 2 1/4" tail pipe. It changed noise dramatically. Atleast low frequence noise dont come to cabin. In traffic lights it is difficult hear that engine is running (earlier it was quite noisy) and when I press pedal to floor then it starts roaring like a hell. I tested on road, I drove steadily 40 km/h (3rd gear) , 50 km/h (4th gear)and 70 km/h (5th gear). Car goes very quietly at those speeds.

Now I have to buy better tail pipe (current on is not so good looking) and I think that it will work then.
