cant get gears!!!

Hi ive just connected my gear linkage back up after taking the engine out and now im really struggling to get any gears, 2nd and 4th seem very close all gears seem to be in wrong place?? i ve tried to adjust the rod for the last hour but this seems impossible nothing seems to work? i have fitted a quickshift rod connector to the box when it was out if this makes any difference?

why did you remove the engine? clutch change?

can you get reverse gear?

hi yes has had a clutch change but i cant get the gears when car turned off, i can get gears inc reverse when i adjust it but then i will loose 5th gear and 4th gear....

have you connected the arm back up right where it goes into the gear box as you can swivel it two ways and theres a kink in the arm ??

hi not too sure which bit you mean have you got any pics??

its the small arm thats connected to the gearbox the gear selector arm thats connected to your gear stick connects to that.......is about three inchs long and it cylindrical ie you can turn it...if you look at it carefully the arm has a little kink in it
