I have my car running but it wont idle unless i wind in the idle screw loads, i did have fuel dribbiling from the pump tube but this has stopped??? when i open the throttle i dont get any fuel squirting of the tube nothing at all comes out?? i seem to be getting a dribble of fuel from the centre of the venturi and when i open the throttle this turns to a mist and revs up nice. i ve cleaned out the idle jet which is a (45) loads of times, the restrictors are in the pipes, the mixture screw is out 2.5 turns and has the o ring on it. When i rev it up i get loads of popping and banging on the over run also when i turn it of i sometimes get a bang from the exhaust??? please if any body can help i would be very gratefull!!! the cars is booked on the rollers for tuesday and i ve already got my ticket for national day. Set up is standard head , 285 piper cam (billett not regrind), T25 turbo, fuel pressure reg, carb is running 120 main 0.9 a/c second stage 1.3. cheers Lee

Firstly take the acc pump jet out the carb and see if that is clear, give it a blow through and a clean.

Right thats good acc pump is sorted.

Now to bring the afr's down you'll have to play with the mixture screw till it reads about right on the afr gauge, 14.5 will be about spot on.

Just seen you put another thread about the mixture screw, sounds like its snapped in the carb base mate.
Your going to need to take the carb off and see if it is still there and get it out.

Just a thought mate, might be worth sticking all the faults in one thread, it'll be easier to follow whats been done and found for everyone which will make it easier to sort out for you mate. ;)

Ok cool, only ask as sometimes larger venturi ones need mixture screw to be wound out a far bit.

If the mixture screw isn't hanging out i wouldn't worry too much that it had to be wound out further than before.
