First post!

just tried to open the old thread and it wont let me the problem is i have just start working on the car again and i cant get it to idle without the choke being used i have tried adjusting the idle screw and it seems to make no difference no matter what i do so i was thinking maybe a rebuild is needed...

Try giving the idle valve a good clean out, may need idle speed and mixture adjusting. Or new o ring on idle valve.

make sure the breather pipe restrictor is fitted.try loosening the idle jet off about 1/16 of a turn and see is it any better(if it runs better your idle jet is blocked or the manifold is drawing air)also make sure there is no fuel dripping from the aux venturi(caused by leaking needle valve)

when you clean the idle jet you will have to do it more than once too! mine was full of ****! had to clean it four or five times! pretty sure after a rebuild on the carb that will be your problem!
