Taken From Cliosport
Clio 172 v Renault 5 GT Turbo
So, I am bobbing along lastnight in the clio. Minding my own business, on the way home from the wifes.
I see a set of headlights in my rear view catching me up. Nothing silly like, just gaining a bit of ground on me. As it gets closer, they look a little squar-ish for most cars on the road. Its night time, so I am struggling to see what it was (gay HID kit in standard lights causing a glare). Stops at a set of lights to be greeted by a rumble from the outside lane.
Looks over to my right to see one of these:-

Sat there, on stealths, burbling away. Looked gorgeous, proper clean. G-reg
So, I am thinking. Hmmmm. Are they as quick as they used to be? I mean, most were running 150-200horses back in the day. This one looks looked after, so might not be silly boosting.
Lights go green and we both set off. I decide not to give it the beans, see if he does. True to form, he opens the taps and it gets of up the road with a roar. Sounded fantastic. Lovely bit of spool, some whine, some loss of traction. Mmmmmm, love it.
Next set of lights and boyo is already there, waiting on red. Grinning. This time its my turn in the outside lane. First gear selected, smile on my face. It's on. I saw it go up the road, and my clio can match that pace no problem, if I wind it all the way up to 7,250rpm. Given its about 20 years younger, its bound to handle better too. Game on.
Few blips of the throttle, clutch on the biting point, watching the other set of lights for when they go red.
Ours go green. GO GO GO
and I got my arse f**king handed to me http://bttos.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif
He must only have been taking it lightly from the first set, as he went up the road like a cat with a firework up it's arse. Popping, banging, spitting flames, and generally leaving me for dust http://bttos.net/forum/images/smilies/lol.gifhttp://bttos.net/forum/images/smilies/lol.gifhttp://bttos.net/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
I loved it. Made me feel 18 again, and I am glad he wasted me, as it kept the spirit of the good old 5 alive in my heart!!!
