he wants to know what would be the best way to get some extra hp. whats actually involed i can tell him basics and if anybody can reccomend any one in the northwest for the work

never any point having a few extra, like you'd notice it..

filter and zorst might at 2bhp but it'll sound so good he'll think its got another 30..

i'd expect the best power without a charger would be cams, filter, zorst (maybe a decat) and a good remap:)

There very rarely is such thing as cheap power on N/A cars. Most people looking for power will go either the forced induction route, or ITB's, lairy cams, headwork, etc, which is all quite expensive.
