When searching the net for some fuel injectors it became apparent that there a two different Bosch styles of injector. The EV1 injector is the older style with a slightly different electrical plug than the newer EV6 style. The EV1 uses the 0280 150 XXX p/n series while the EV6 uses the 0280 155 XXX p/n series introduced from 1996.

What I'm not sure of, is whether or not the EV1 and EV6 injectors are interchangeable (elec plugs aside)

Here's a couple of picutres:

The EV1 is the fatter style injector:

I may have told a big fat lie! The two styles of Bosch injectors (150 and 155) are just the old and new designs.

I 'think' EV1 and EV6 refers to the electrical plug type. An example below:

Bosch Pt No: 0280 150 431 (old fat body) are the SAAB Red Tops that flow 346cc/min @ 3 Bar and are high impedance. They have the EV1 style elec plug.

Bosch Pt No: 0280 155 968 (new slim body) are the Volvo Green Giants that flow 444cc/min @ 3 Bar and are high impedance. They have the EV1 style elec plug.

The o-ring size and the distance between the o-rings on both 150 and 155 style injectors appear to near identical and therefore physically interchangeable.

I will get hold of both styles to trial before I confirm for certain.

to be continued.............

The old and new interchange OK, both the same length and use 14mm ports either end. The newer types have use denso connectors or something, instead of the old junior timer plugs.
