View Full Version : steering/suspension
simple question...
can supsension have anything to do with steering problems... i.e... car feeling like its on ice.. and follows tram lines wayyyy to easy.. :(
reason im asking.. ive tried many different suspension setups,, changed wishbones to new ones,, roll bar bushes.. but i still have **** steering :(
Are your top mounts etc on the right sides?
tried, avo's coilovers, and now on some next coilovers...

yep.... top thingy closer to the windscreen than the front of car... and on the outer side rather than the centre.. (ive even switched over to phase 2 suspension from phase 1 cos i thought it mite be better) :(

yes if your tracking is out. check for track rod end and steering rack end play. also wheel sizes can affect king pin inclination and make the steering feel very light.
is the U/J worn out ?? got play in it ??
changed uj when i changed to phase 2 type rack :( and had my tracking done many times... :(

If you want standard renault settings, your looking at 1 degree negative camber, but you could go a bit more if you use it on track days.
As for adjusting it, you can either get camber adjusting bolts, I think demon tweeks sell them, or you can elongate the bolt holes on the coilovers.
