Got the head off and apart for a skim at the moment just wondering is it worth replacing the valve stem seals? the club shop currently has none in stock so wondering is it worth the effort sourcing some from elsewhere?

I use Vauxhall X20XE stem seals much better then those White hard plastic stem seals and they don't pop off either.

Or just don't use them at all, I don't. :)

So whats the worst case scenario of not using them, burning a little extra oil?
I dont use any, you will have no problems if the valve guides are in good nick.

No problems unless guides are worn. then maybe a bit smoky on overrun/idle. :-)

Same, I don't use them, they have a habit coming loose and damaging the valve guide.....
