Did the diesel rad not fit and a better rad than oe?

Although a fully working oe rad is fine for nearly all setups

Jose you are digging at very old data in my brain there :D

Sure it was a renault extra diesel that had a bigger rad but possibly the oil cooler was not part of the rad? There will be someone on here that remembers - my brain hurts just with that bit lol

You then had the oe normal rad and the copper version that was supposed to be more efficient.

Then there are the alloy after market ones that for most specs will be more than required.

I would save the pennies and go oe ;) retaining the cowling and ducting will have a bigger improvement than most of the other options anyway

cheers Duncan and sorry for being a pain, so i can be able to use the o.e renault 5 gtt copper radiator if so that should be good as i'v got one at home and that could save me a few pennies but i'v not heard from anyone that has done that b4.

the copper core rads are utter utter utter utter utter cack, i've broken 3 taking off the top hose..

standard plastic ended rad...

if the standard rad was £2000 and the copper core one was 1.98p, i would still get the standard plastic ended rad.. they are dog turd and a headgasket waiting to happen..

diesel rad from r5 extra van , you might need to drill a new mounting hole in the lower cross member of the sub frame to accept the lug on the rad, i think its 3-4" wider than gtt and has no oil cooler built in ,also has expansion cap, will be upto the job, the inlet/outlets are the same as gtt position wise, same with rad switch ,so should be easy to swap/little expense;) or you could have a word with big steve raider ,he has info on the clio rads which might also be another option:p

I used a clio 16v Rad in my GT when I fitted the F7R engine. Just trimmed off a little of the top edge to get it to sit further forward and fitted a very large (16"??) Kenlow fan to it. It NEVER got above 1/2 way even in traffic after a full balls out thrashing. You need a seperate thermostat controlled oil cooler though but that is a good idea on any turbo engine imho.
