Popped over the the workshop next to us today at work, had a vauge? idea what went on in there but not completly

Turns out the guy is the founder of leading transmition company Xtrack, amoungst afew customer cars was his personal hillclimb / sprint car which was being worked on. I had to take some pics of the thing whilst it was apart as ive never seen such workmanship / skill in one car before !!! :)

Its basically a ford puma firbeglass shell, with a far from standard Ford RS200 Evolution engine, build around a completly bespoke chassis, with a one off four wheel drive system, gearbox...and loads of other bits that i had no idea what they were ! :D Everything was kevlar / carbon fibre and every bracket etc was build for the car, everything was rose jointed, attention to detail was unreal :eek:. It has a genuine 0 - 60 time of 1.7 seconds :devil:. It got afew class records at various hillclimb / sprint events

Heres a load of pics and afew vids if anyones interested....dread to think how much it cost to build :wasntme:

That car was featured in one of the Ford mags last year. It cost over £500k to build, so they say:scared:

This is what my friend mailed back;

"The Puma is the most amazing car. It belongs to Mike Endean who set up Xtrac in 1984 and then sold out in an MBO in 1997/2000. That unit was his private unit next to Gould who make the best single seater hill climb cars. Our factory is rather larger (as we employ 230 people) and is the other side of Thatcham. it is based on a Gould chassis and suspension, with lots of carbon fibre, has a highly modified Ford 2 litre turbo rally engine - 700 bhp plus, has a semi auto racing gearbox and fully active four wheel drive. It is so quick that it regularly wins the Brighton speed trials.He also uses it for hill climbing - and wins his class. It is a genuine work of art and super car.In action it sounds and looks like a stealth bomber!"

And he's normally quite restrained.

Any chance you could ask him if he has any of the original nme pulsar/sunny gearboxes/parts kicking about that he might sell? :D
