You can get the tool from Halfords for a few ££'s or the pikey method is use an old door handle that has the rod still in as that will supposedly fit, never tried so can't confirm.

Grind a allen key down thats what i did :)

only reason i started thread was to find thread size so i could buy a plug with a sensible hex head (priced at £1:99) rather than a square hole OE plug and the tool because since i changed oil sump plug is leaking (old plug was so loose it came out with grips). I am absolutely skint so couldnt afford the tool and new plug at present :(...... but pikey method worked a treat untill funds are better. Ty v-much guy's helpfull as ever

ps.... a carefully ground down allen key would be a better idea (no discs for my grinder) as Ian suggests because the door square key is not a great fit and there is a little back lash.

an old 3/8th extension bar ground alittle works a treat also and you can use a ratchet on it
