few months a go i removed the engine , subframe ,steering linkage etc .
before doing all this the tracking was perfectly right .

now i have fitted everything back on and connected steering rack to the column etc
but when the drivers side wheel is pointing straight ahead ,passenger side wheel is
toeing out big style .i guess about 10-15 degrees as well .

what could have possibly caused this ? never removed the track rod ends from the
steering rack . i have used all the same parts that came off the car (hubs ,driveshafts, shocks , wishbones etc )

i know when you remove this lot and refit them tracking would not be perfect
etc but the angle passenger side wheels sits at makes me think something
is majorly altered .

any ideas on this ??

i replaced my front suspension with coilovers and my tracking when it went in for setting the other day was off the scale so maybe its that?

i know what you are saying ,but that sort of stuff you cant see with the naked eye .
this is one is very obvious though , its even too difficult to steer it .

i would say something hasn't gone back in right or in its original position somewhere along the line......????

how can the subframe not go in the right place though ?
4 mounting points in total , you cant really misallign them

Evren,
misaligning the subframe just a few mm's (which is possible) would effect your tracking angles more than you'd think.

ok i figured out what the fonk has gone wrong now :crap:
i used a megane subframe instead of the original renault 9 one
due to the reason r9 subframe would not take the inner poly bushes
i wanted to fit .

today i have compared both subframes ,and found out straight away
that the wishbone mounting holes on the subframe make them sit further
out (around 15mm on each side) .
so the track is widened now and the easiest way seems to be winding the
track rod ends out to correct it than getting laser alligned etc .

now 2 more questions though .

1- what number of minimum turns would be classed as safe , in regards to track rod end screwing into the track rod ?

2 - as the ball joint is sitting further out now i guess i will have muchos negative camber as well ? what would be the best way of correcting this ?
camber bolts or correct it from the suspension top mount by repositioning it ?

As per above it has a little play side to side forward and back so it will make a differece :) if there were locator downs then it would not matter
