How much would it cost to build your own to that spec? Surely not that much...

Okay okay... lets just ignore the fact that the sequential gearbox and LSD comes out around £9,000 for a second :laugh:

Standard Clio Cup - £2,500
Throttle bodies - £1,995
Omex 600 ECU - £525
Cat cams - £250
K-Tec exhaust - £375
Uprated head - £1290
Clio cup coilovers - £585

Total = £7,520

Who needs a sequential gearbox anyway right :p and obviously I understand that doesn't include the setting up of all this gear.

Whilst looking around the web for prices I found this site!

IMO The gearbox in the car alone makes for the biggest difference. Hands down i'd have 1 in mine if my wallet was full of dosh

You forgot the F.I.A spec rollcage, wheels, tyres and labour to build the thing.......

FIA spec cage - £484 (http://www.rollcentre.co.uk/rollcentre/html/fia_specification.html)
Wheels it states Clio Cup Speedlines which come with the car.
Tyres, well, not gonna add that much.

I'm not trying to be pedantic! just that without the gearbox and LSD imo it can be done :cool:

then you could get into;

price of fia spec seats
price of fia spec harnesses and thats without going.
price of the omex basic loom to match the ecu

labour, set up time and other bits and pieces would easily cost a few 000`s on top so i think its a bargain

Ricardo

No, probs..... I'm not trying to be pedantic either, but for that money, that car is a bargain...... Compared to something knocked together, on track that car will run at the front of any 2000cc formula or championship, whereas a converted car will be difficult to get into the middle of the field, either through mechanical failures or just being a bit ....... Poo!:laugh:

Ahh... right well the first link I clicked on was this. (http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3372)

I've got a couple of sets of Clio Cup race car suspension units for sale.

To include:
2x Front inserts and damper units
2x Rear damper units

These are manufactured by Bilstein and used on the Cup race cars.

Forget " coilover suspension kits" which you buy for circa £1000, these are the best you can buy before you get to £900/ corner Penske units or the like.

All in excellent condition,

£500+vat per car set

they are sequential.
Full throttle upshifts with no clutch. Just tug the gearlever back. Very fast. Close ratios.
Some didnt use the clutch on the downshifts, but that dramatically shortened the life of the box. Dont know if they still do.

The cup cars also had magnetti marelli dash and full telemetry - individual wheel speeds (for seeing how long you can keep it on 3 wheels), steering input, throttle position etc. The g-sensor plotted the circuit, non GPS. You can acurately overlay the data from a few cars.

I have seen a few go for close to £10,000. Proper race car, Total Bargain.

Did that K-Tec R5 with the sequential gearbox ever sell in the end? Think that was up for £15k or something.
