ive put the volvo engine in and done all the plumbing, ect, runs fine, idles fine revs up in nuetral fine, everythings fine except when you drive and hit 2500 rpm then it just misfires like **** and wont accelerate,it feels like the ignition is being turned off and on very quickly, it ran fine when it was in the volvo and i havent adjusted anything, ect, it does have a brass bleed valve on the actuator pipe but ive wound it all the way out to take overboosting out of the equation, the problem happens everytime the boost is about to kick in,is there a boost sensor plug or something ive missed ect?? any ideas?? thanks.

Bleed valve should be wound all the way in for minimum boost?!

As brigsy says sounds like your overboosting and the ignition module is cutting the spark. Boost needs to be set below 0.9 bar

What fuel pump have you got fitted?

REGGY5GT

Its got a standard gt pump on it,new filter,i was told that standard gt pump would be ample for b18ft.

It all depends which pump you have?

The ph1 bosch may be up to the job but i doubt the standard ph2 pierburg fuel pump will be.

mk1 golf gti, any 1990 bmw with a big engine, escort rs turbo. These pumps will fit in the fuel pump bracket as well.;)

sounds like a boost leak. pressure test the system. definately loose the d/v unless its re-circ as can stutter on gearchange too. if its tryin to boost more than 8psi on a std ecu it will cut boost tho.

I had this problem. Twice. First time was no power to air flow meter
second time I had a duff coil.

Have u got the idle control valve plumed in properly

No not yet, its back out at the minute to have the gearbox repaired, i managed to snap the speedo sensor in box.

Going back in for final time when box is done then its wiring the thing up.
