Anyone know if the copper brake pipes (rear) are available from renault ready to fit? what i mean is already bent/shaped to go straight on?

if so, does anyone have the part no's for them?

as i have a pipe bender i may give it a go myself.

could someone tell me what type/diameter of copper pipe i need? aswell as somewhere cheap online to purchase from?

would i need anything else for the end of the pipes? ie end fittings etc?

just done my rear brake lines as well mate a pretty big pain in the arse:(if there is any sort of a auto car shop you can get them made up but try askin garages as well they might be able to help.the length i got made up was about 3.85m and one is about 3.75m.one of the rear unions is a diffrent size as well.use plenty of wd40 as well and its worth gettin a 11mm flaired spanner that helps a great deal.you will be able to bend the pipe your self bit tricky though.and make sure your bleed nipples will come lose as well so you can bleed your brakes i found out the hard way

Raj, try Automec as they make quality pre-cut and flanged sets, they might make just the rears for you?

I think the website is www.automec.co.uk. ?

ive been in touch with automec, they sell all the brake pipes:agree:

however they do not come pre-shaped ready to fit:( they are just made to length including the fittings.

so.... i need to buy a pipe bender tool.!

for you that have replaced your brake pipes and needed to shape the pipes... what tool did you use? as im findind pliers that differ from each other slightly.
i just want the right tool to do the job.

I always bend the copper pipes by hand, or use anything round that is lying about as a mandrel. Very easy to work with no pipe bender needed.

As long as your careful & dont do really sharp bends as it will kink the pipe, it will be fine.

you can get all the pipe and tools i.e pipe bender that is universal think mine can hold about five different sizes, pipe flaring tool and all the unions.i done my old vitara when i used to go off roading so got all the bits off ebay worked a treat, just make sure you get a good flaring tool as i found out the hard way and got a cheap one and it was cack so got a middle of the range one and worked well.was pretty easy and was thinking of doing my 5 on the rear too as they look like there near the end of there days.i did find some bends easyer just to do with my hands if is a slight bend.

The full brake kit, although will still have to bend it yourself...

yes, you don't need any sort of bender if you use copper! you want 3/16" brake pipe (comes on a roll, cheap as you like) and M10x1mm fittings for your calipers and rear lines. if you're really stuck raj I have some pipe kicking round and a bag of those 10mm fittings, i could make you some up for the cost of the bits and the postage. you'd need to give me dimensions.

I found the rear/front pipes were very easy to do by hand, copper pipe bends very easly. The long ones from front to back where a bit of a pain, they can be quite akward, might be easyer if you drop the tank slighty for easyer accsess. Make sure your carefull taking the old pipes out of the brakets underneath the car also as they can be very fragile. I was like a bull in a china shop and ended up snapping quite a few. Cable ties then became my friend.
