anyone find a renault/special tool for removing the left hand track rod end....went to change the bushing in mine and did'nt get too far!!:crap:

The track rod end just screws into the tie rod from the steering rack, there should be one locking nut on there. If you can't get the ball joint out of the stub axel carrier you will need a ball joint splitter. Or try with a big hammer! Done hit down onto the top of the thread too much though though as it is a taper and willlock, hit the side of the stub axel where the peg of the track rod end goes through, it should shock it off and break the taper lock.;)

keep the nut inplace at the top of the thread to take the impact....

there's two flats on the centre steering shaft which u can fit a very thin 17mm spanner but the inner ball joint has no grips on it save two small lugs on the shoulder!!if it fails the mot i'll have to make something up and take pics!:(
