View Full Version : Car pulling to the left under breaking....
ok when i had my wheel come off the other day i swapped the hub over because the threads was knacked now the other hub i couldnt get the brake off so i just swapped it over now like the title says it pulls quite violently when i brake now when i spin the wheel the brake works on the right but im wondering that when i forced the pistons back on the brake some air got in it and it needs bleeding or has the compensator gone...??
your thoughts please

sticking piston, sticking sliders, as you say air in one side of the brake circuit making it pull..
thats what i'd go with.. maybe ruff up the pads again as i always get them greasy when playing:D

yeah i couldnt remember if it was .com or co.uk just had a guess but least it was a point in the right direction :)
My local motor factors sells the bleed screws for pretty cheap, 60p each if I remember correctly. Might be worth checking locally. :)
i just found one local too me thats got them on the shelf and there open tomorrow too :) result
If its pulling to one side the piston/silders will be siezed on the caliper mate. Work the piston out, clean up & grease well.

You cant just get air in the system by pushing the piston back(your pushing the piston when you press the brakes, it doesnt get air in it then lol) more likely that the callipers stuck, or bent from the wheel coming off, u may find only a small %age of the pad surface is touching. I dont know exactly what happend with your wheel, another possibility ive had before from an overheating brake is melting the flexi blocking it internally. with the calliper off just make sure the piston can move out but put a block of wood in it or something so you dont pop the piston out.
cheers for all that i thought it might be something like that....also does anyone know the correct nipple spec? ie thread and length etc as my local factors says they want a sample and it will save me 2 trips to my unit?
All sorted now :)
brakes are spot on
for info, what exactly is the sixe of the bleed nipples so we know what size to order via biggred etc.?
dont know about thread but they are 11mm nuts on the side of the nipples if i remember right
