View Full Version : Turning the Boost Down

Yep, you read right... I need to turn the boost down as the cars hitting a fuel cut at 1.7 bar. The car is fueled for it but the cut wasn't lifted.

The problem is that the actuator is the longest it will go, any longer and the wastegate rattles and won't seal propperly and then no boost at all :(

Would fitting a fancy-pants bost controller help it or will it need a different actuator?

How have you got the pipework mate for the actuator?

Also can;t remember if you have one of those alloy carb tops on your car, may be a cause.

Sounds like you need a different actuator mate, as the preload sets your minimum boost. The diaphragm could have split on yours causing overboost.

Thats what I was thinking mate, didn't know if a controller could turn it down.

The standard actuators aren't adjustable and I think the one on it is a bit OTT.
I'll have a shop around and see whats about, cheers :agree:
