If it's only 300 and so easy to do why hasn't he done it. Walk away.

Does sound a dodgy advert. Needs to sell due to points, why does he want a gtt then? :scratch: Somethings not right.

well he said the reson he doesnt want the car any more is because he got points and the insurance is to expensive.and obi it would be cheaper to insure mines as its still logged as a campus.

right guys i think he is a bit of a liar just asked a few boys on the toyota owners club forum the told me this-->You are looking at around;

Gearbox - 350-450
Flywheel - 50
Clutch & Pressure Plate - 400 for a decent aftermarket one(i think the direct clutches are around this price)
Clutch slave cylinder/master cylinder and lines 50-100
Clutch pedal ass and brake pedal ass 50-100
Shifter ass and linkages - 50-100
Gearbox Mounts - 80-100
Flywheel bolts are shorter than the auto ones so you will need to track some of those down too.

For the main parts you could spend between 1000-1500 and you still need gearbox oil and clutch fluid(brake fluid) as well as throw away bearing.

I would reccomend getting a manual halfcut and doing the swap, for the same price you will get a 4efte as well.So i dont know were is he getting £300 for the whole lot :S maybe the gearbox alone.

Sounds like it would be cheaper to drop an 4efte engine in the 5:p I would have thought you could have done it for no more than 5-600 as when I got my Toyota gearbox from the scrappies I got gearbox clutch flywheel etc for 350

I think you are right mate there is alot of work involved in this.plus i would not be able to do it myself as i dont have a clue on jap cars.so that would mean putting it into a garage to do the work which will be more ££££.
