If i stick a hose pipe in the header tank and disconnect bottom rad hose, will this be a way of flushing the coolant system out?

Will i need to remove thermosstat from top rad hose??

Thanks

seems a reasonable way of doing it to me dan, you will need to remove the thermostat as it will be closed when the engines not warm, ,

depending how much muck is in there, might be worth pulling out the rad first as you dont want any of it to collect in the rad and block it....

Run it up with some washing powder in the coolant system so it breaks down the rust and dirt then flush the system with water.

I always took the two bottom pipes off the header tank, then blasted the hose pipe down the heater matrix hose off the tank till it continuinly pour'd out clear water first! :D

Then did the usual draining routine, taking of engine drain plug etc etc. :agree:

Back in the day we used to use dishwasher tablets crushed up in the cooling system to unblock clogged heater matrix on phase one lagunas ,worked really well let it run up to temp and flush it out ,then rinse with water and as above nice and clean and smelling lovely:)
