right im building a garage in the next few weeks to house the 5 i have been looking on ebay at concrete panel garages has anybody taken one apart before? how heavy are the panels ect i can get a van to transport one but not if the panels are heavy as we would need to lift them on.
do they come apart easily and are the easy to put back together.
anyhelp seriousley apreciated.
or any other ideas for a cheap way to build one.
cheers guys
me and my friend took 1 apart a few weeks back.. the panels are heavy but can be lifted into the back of a low back transit.. we had a pick-up so had to get a mini digger to lift them:crap:

might be abit hard to get hold of a digger.
depending on what sized one your looking for i would definatly consider a decent sized van too, if you were to put them for instance in the back of anything smaller than T280 transit it could well be overloaded and would not be fun to drive  as they weigh a sh*tload. but on the plus side with a good quality door they are pretty secure. add to that you may/will have to concrete the posts into a good concrete base an look out for asbestos roofed ones too.
better still build it outta thermalite blocks :D
They are weighty but two blokes can just about manage a panel .I think you would be wise to do a few trips in a transit or similar .The 7 1/2 tonner I used certainly knew it was loaded but had a tail lift so that made life a lot easier .
Asbestos roof needed very careful handling as well :agree: Put a mask on before you start messing about .

i would go nowhere near one, try get rid of one....:scared:
you could knock up a timber roof pretty easy, its not gotta look pretty, just keep the rain out.. :)

asbestos is fine to be honest, unless you start breaking it when it becomes pretty dangerous, think the roofs were white asbestos which is pretty common and found in artex and talcum powder! but like said pretty nasty stuff if broken, specially as you wont find out about for about 25 years:eek:
if you get one with an asbestos roof take it to be disposed of properly and get some corrugated steel roofing ot even plastic if your not too worried about security.
or like someone said you can build a timber one, fast to build any shape you like and easy to source too. perhaps build the whole lot outta 4x2 or 5x2 timber and feather edge board for sides an roof,
concrete ones you cant hang sh*t up coz you cant screw anything to em!
