No need for expensive VHT, doesn't get hot enough.

If you want it to last get POR-15 from Frosts.

1. Clean with carb spray and an airline. Otherwise a good de-grase foam and brish.

2. Prepare with Frost metal ready.

3. Paint with Frost POR-15.

It will last a lot longer than a rattle can and look tasty.:agree:

Pics available in the rebuild albums on my profile m8.

pressure washed and degreased the gearbox then grey primered the gearbox and end casing then using wheel trim silver from halfords painted the gearbox and used gloss black for the end casing :coffee:

Cheers Alister, i have the metal ready already from my restoration, is it just their standard por silver paint i need or do they do a high temp or engine enamel, whats best?

Im guessing its fine to use on the head to?

I've used standard paint on cylinder heads before with no problem, no need for VHT there or on the gearbox imo.

I used hammerite on mine, the paint outlasted the internals of the gearbox:D
