hi guys, i have read the threads about this but was left a little confused, i have smoking on idle only when engine is hot, it is fine when cold, i drove it 2 work yesterday there was no smoke at all, drove it home a little longer route when i got home loads of smoke came out the exhaust, left it running for a minute or so hoping it would clear but it didn't. any ideas. cheers.

It sounds like the classic smoking turbo mate, try a good working unit if possible

get the car up to temperature...go for a drive...cruise at 40-50mph, probably best to do this in 4th gear and accelerate hard to about 60-70mph and lift off the throttle, completely...if there is a bluey haze/cloud when you the lift off, you will be witnessing a sure fire sign of the turbo giving up the ghost :)

the t3 on my le car is doing exactly the same. once warm, after a run, you come to a stop at some light, and a big chuff of smoke comes out. loverly!
