View Full Version : oe Renault Gaitor
Hi does anyone know a way of stretching a renault cv gaitor over the spider without splitting it. i know renault have some special tool but after an hour of wrestling a driveshaft like it was an aligator ive given up:scratch:
Buy the cone that fits over the cv joint & it will pull over. About a fiver from your local motorfactors mate:)
This is the tool you need, lube it up & away you go:laugh: remember to turn cv boot inside out before fitting!

i think reno stopped using this type of boot and now use a more plastic type one so it might'nt really stretch at all??

y dont u remove the tripod joint circlip, remove the tripod joint, and slide the cv boot down the driveshaft. put the tripod joint back 2 its origional location so the shaft is still balanced.

I've just bought a cone for fitting the stretch style gaiters, damn easy to do and apparantly there are suppliers out there that do lifetime guarantee on the stretchy gaiters know. Will find out the brand of gaiter.
