Right ive been to a race meeting today .

My friend was racing he just had a new engine built and gearbox ,the car was ran in on rollers no problem , drove the car to scutineering this morning , took it out on qualyfing this morning and the engine went on second lap not even driving hard ??

It looks like its dropped a valve the spark plug in no 2 cylinder was mashed engine is sized and there is water in bores and inlet manifold ,we have not stripped the engine yet as he spent ex amount pounds for the new engine .

What would you guys do ??

All also any 1 got an 172 engine for sale ??

Motorsport can be cruel and VERY expensive.

I would definately speak to the engine builder if only done a few laps, but never heard of anyone that gives guarantees with their engines.

Dropped a valve last year and not good:(

Good luck with it though:).

Plus one, NO gurantee given from here on our porsche engines being raced, only selected few... You need to know whats failed exactly first and the course before you go any further...
