gearbox crunch

i have a crunch going into 4th gear its not bad and only does it now and then i think its a common fault sould i change the gearbox or leave it untill it gets worse :confused: the saying dont fix it untill its broke comes to mind but want to know what every 1 else thinks

sometimes the linkage causes gears to be a pig, maybe not go in right, but chances are your box is getting on, a replacements not hard to find but sometimes there problem themselves.. read briggs van thread..

look into the cost of a rebuild if your keeping the car for years, or track down a good one if you can find one:)

i'd start looking now rather than waiting till its bust..

as above, keep using it till it breaks but get a new one ready to go on and if you can find one that you know is good, as in drive the donor car before its stripped out etc, then all the better! :cool:
