i am running toyo t1r's on the front and back on 15" rims and on the road i find them good .... good traction and stability ..... but was thinking about the pod friday and future trackdays ...... would i be better off putting some toyo r888's on my old 13" original rims for the pod and track days or should i just stick to what i got and use on the road ????

I think r888's would be much better suited for track days. Do it. :agree:

How big is your wallet? Once you use R888 you will not want to go back and they don't last long . I use T1-R as wets, very good and last well on track... :agree:

I'm planning on doing something similar. I use Toyo's at the moment on 15's but for track day's I'll be getting some slick/semi slick tyres on my original Speedlines

Also have a look at Toyo R1R. They have a 140 treadwear rating so they're pretty soft.

the R1R is the toyo cross over tyre, half way between t1r and r888

i have r888's at the minute, fantastic tyre and good in the wet, just not standing water!:sad2::D

however they are just about out of their legal road life, so they are getting sidelined for track/pod use only soon and i have a set of parada spec 2's to sling on my spare wheels for a while, see how they cope with the ponies on tap
