some cars dont have anything to hold the disk on, just a locating pin.. its not gonna jump off if you bolt the wheel on:p drill it out, a tap and die isn't hard to find..

It may come to that Dave. It would help if I had a big enough torx driver:wasntme:
Dave how does an impact screwdriver work?? Never used one before!!

you whack it.. :smokin:
quote from the tinterweb:)
An impact driver (http://www.onlinetips.org/impact-driver-uses) is used when some kind of fastener needs to be loosened. Manual impact drivers look somewhat like fat screwdrivers with a chuck at one end in which to fit different kinds of bits, depending on what the job at hand requires. How does an impact driver work that is made like this?
Spring-loaded, the impact driver operates by employing a wedge and cam apparatus built inside it. When the user knocks the manual impact driver with a hammer, it causes the chuck, and in turn, the bit, to turn several degrees. Any type of fastener (bolts, screws, lags, etc.) is usually successfully freed through the repeated use of the torque, shock, and thread compression caused by hitting the driver.
:cry::cry: I only wanted to know the difference between an impact screwdriver and a normal one. Please just tell me before I cry myself to sleep. I don't want to look even more of a numpty and have to ask the wizard!!! :sad2:
edit. Thanks Dave your a star

this is what i do before removing the 2X40torx bolts
belt the **** out of them with a 3lb hammer first then with a 40size good quilty torx socket tapping the tool home propperly.. snap the bolts open .
works nearly evertime
if that dont work ile try and tap them roound with a chisel
if that dont work then ile drill the top off
you dont realy need the torx bolts all they do is make it easyier to line the holes up on the disk with the hub . the wheel bolts keep the disk from rotating
;)

just one last foot note if you do have to drill them .... when you fit the new disk make sure the counter sunk holes are were they would be normaly or you will have brake vibration :)

i did my front discs reciently and had the same problem as u m8, wd40, impact driver and chisel didnt work so dont bother m8 you wont get them out cold.
heat up cherry hot with oxy acetalyne then while still mega hot get a 24" breaker bar with a torx socket on the end hold the tool in place with 1 hand and turn with the other ( try a quick shock rather than a progressive turn of the breaker bar)
roberts your dads brother ;)
Thats excellent advice thanks Dudes. Thanks for the help everyone. Hopefully will get the job bossed tomorrow and will give a cheeky update of my progress.:smokin:

I don't have any gas bottles to hand to looks like it will be a job with the drill. Tried to heat around Torx bolts tonight with of those handy blow torch thingys and as u can imagine it did f#@k all. Might as well have just used the girlfriends nicky Clarke delux hairdrier the difference it made. :sad2:
