Hello people,

* Could anybody advise me on the cheapest place to buy an 065 size car battery?

* How much would i roughly expect to pay for one?

* Do i buy a sealed unit or a low maintainence version?

Thanks :D

What Matt said :p

Try a local motor factor, more often a 'back street' type of shop, not like Eurocarparts or GSF etc

Thankyou for the advice :smokin:

Does it matter whether i get a low maintainence unit that i can top up or a sealed maintainence free battery? Are there any pros and cons with either?

cheap ones tend to be low maintenance, not maintenance free anyway

if you buy a cheap battery it will last a few winters, but not last as well as a pricier one, but frankly a battery is a battery, if i had to pay for one new i'd buy the cheapest i could regardless of maintenance level etc.

lead isnt that pricey at the mo, its just that early to mid 2009 was atrociously low on the LME, but look back to 2005 ish and it was sky high, in fact i'm pretty sure it clocked well over 2 grand a ton in 2007 late on, it fluctuates like mad. about 1400 it is at the mo:cool:
