have you got a week mark lol

my driver side seat bracket which connects seat to car has completely pulled out any ideas on how to fix back.

Carb i think its standard looking at the pages on the site. i bought a carb service kit, but pulled to main body gasket over the float , is that right , coz it leaked straight away.
changed no setting on the carb but she now runs fast, even when no throttle or choke applied, any ideas.

not to sure if it is ph1 or ph2 ( what do i look for)

and , sorry mate do you no anyone or a supplier who has a complete boot lock and key.

Thanks for your time

Firstly have a word with Mike (phase 1 16v turbo), he's a memeber on here and a trader of all new and used Renault parts, he can sort you out with the bits you may need mate.

What age is your car? Also you got pic's of it so we can tell what model it is.

for the seat, is it the small bolt thats come out of the frame that has broken?

With the carb sounds like its poss got bit of an air leak if the rev's are staying high after you rebuilt it. Is the mixture screw in? Have you played with the mixture screw and the idle screw.

To fit the big main gasket at the top of the carb you really need to remove the float, not pull the gasket over the float. Thats prob why it leaked as the gasket has stretched or split.

the hole where the bolts goes through look like it to big and washer has pulled all the way through.possbly need to weld it . does it bolt outside in?

its is 87 pics on pistonheads says hybrid turbo 89 40k quicck sale black gel 21y
see wat you think.

would the plenum o ring effect this on the carb, might have to check these jets and screw:confused:
thanks mark

Is that the mounting bolt for the seat your on about mate?

87 could be the cross over period mate so mainly phase 2 but with few phase 1 features

No the O-ring on the top of the carb won't really affect al this mate.
How far away are you mate from Aylesbury? If you get really stuck more than welcome to pop the car here or could pop to see it to sort it out. Or if there are some members near you who won't mind looking could be easier to sort out mate. ;)

This may help you abit mate, it shows all the bits on the carb. Saves explaining them all and also you can keep refering to it too. ;)

The mixture screw is the one on drivers side of the carb that sits in the tube at an angle. Its meant to be around 3 truns out from fully in which is standard setting but to be honest all cars are different so may not be that for yours, i read you got a grp A carb so i'm pretty sure yours will need winding out more.

Also the idel screw is the one at the back of the carb that is threaded into the accelerator bracket, that sets the idle of the engine. See how that is positioned, may need winding out alittle to lower revs if yours are really high.

Gary have a read of all the carb related articles in this section, should give you a better understanding of the carb. :)
