low temp fan switch

just tryed putting my fitting my low temp fan switch but had a problem with it it seemed as if the threads were either to close and it wasnt tighting up.so put old one back in i bought it from cgb so it should be ok.has anyone else had this problem with these switches??

some rads have a floating nut (inside the rad) that the switch lockes into .. if you have a sort switch it might not lock on to the nut

but if that was the case then surely the old switch would have had the same problem when i put it back in (which it never. fitted back in perfect and tight)
