as it says :)
i am crying over selling my old 5 but happy at the fact i am not worried about my 20 yr old car breaking down.
i have howeva been contemplating the thought of buying a good shell launching the engine in the bin and putting something more modern and reliable into a 5 shell as i dont think any car looks as good as a 5 :)
any info/tips for me to go hunting?

172 Engine

But the standard engine is nothing to worry about...

i know its nothing to worry about id lus prefer something a bit more hardwearing and with a low set of miles on it

If you wanna go for cheapness and reliability then you need to go down the b18ft (Volvo 1.7 turbo) route. Get your membership paid up again and have a look on the forums as there are some extra areas with details for these engine conversions. :)

I know its never been done, but if your after cheapness and reliability something like the 1.6 16v from the clios and meganes would go in.

Can pick them up pretty cheap too.

oh hell yeah:uhhuh: would love to see a lancer engined 5, be it front or mid engined. hell id even like to see if the boxer engine would fit in the front/rear of a 5.

*just wondering, are there any specialist companys that deal with engine transplants to fit into vehicles which the engine wasnt originally made for?

Well theres a clio with the EVO lump in it, so doubt it will be any more difficult putting it in the 5.

4G15t is the 1.5l turbo engine out of the Coltczt and colt ralliart. Quite tunable now.

im not renewing it till i can afford the tenner plus if i did it now it would be wasted lol
i have no turbod renault lol

but thanks i was just enquiring as it is in my mind and am on the hunt for a shell lol

if any one is interested in an Mitsubishi engine a have few 4g13, 4g64, 4g57, 4g37 and 4g54 all brand new (new old stock)
