gents ive got a problem whith the 5 when i drive it i put the loud pedal down when i come off it it ticks over about 1500rpm untill u put my foot under the pedal ive replaced the spring ive adjusted the cable and no joy :cry: any help will be good :)

im having a similar problem iv gone and got a new cable to see if that will fix it, but looking at the back of the carb where the accelerator cable meets the bracket try using loads of WD40 to clean the area around by the idle screw.

ive tried that mate its only just started to do it was fine the day before realy strange :cry::cry::cry:

Have you adjusted the spring too? I had the same problem untill I bent the end around to give it a bit more tension.

the throttle spring mounts on a plate that is mounted on the inlet manifold . see if the plate moves around . if so tighten the 10mm bolts that hold the mounting plate :coffee:

I've bent springs made them shorter all sorts the plate did haveca bolt missing so done that and it still dose it what a night mare :cry:

Probably the cable sticking, lube it up

Take the lobster off with it runnin check if fuel is eunnin down venturi nozzle and check acc pump is set right I had this problem was just a seal
