I'd be more concerned that ure at a place that don't know the 5gtt engine to well?
what you hoping to get at that, 170bhp ish?
phil

I think Spookys made about 180ish bhp with a T28 and standard engine, forge front mount and sidey @ 18psi aswell.

They are quite reputable round here, I think he just likes to cover his ass? He knows all about carb's etc as they work on a lot of older cars. Any recommendations for 5 tuners would be appreciated for the future.
I think it's all a much of a much. They are all as bad as each other, at the end of the day as long as i see all the graphs and logs showing its running well, i'll be happy.
Phil - Regarding power i don't know? i'd be happy with 170 bhp. You weighing up our Mallory bet? :D
i had standard internals on mine running the same bout 180hp with a t28 ,piper cam etc , ran great :) and a good carb setup
Matt, your old one was showing 247hp at 24psi at an RTOC Motoscope rolling road day. Scoff set that up for me.

Well, got shot of the sidey. 18psi? I ran 20psi pretty much since I got my car back :D :cooter:

If it makes you feel any better I ran 24psi manifold on standard liners, road use & RTOC pod day... many, many runs :D

And I've added a sidey, enlarged elbow and the 9 slot flywheel, still running 20psi and it dispatches everything I've played with, brand new 370z and a carrera 4s, I'd recon she's around 190ish now, will see what terminals it puts down

he probably had bad experience of GTT's running standard fuel pumps.- which you have to change above 18psi, else, they dont supply enough fuel/pressure to the engine, and yes it would cause a cracked liner scenario.
18 psi thats baby boost, the liners are fine if the tune is good! pick a different tuner mate;)

So what did it make?
Right, for all interested the car made 180bhp @ 5891rpm with 207 lbs/ft torque. I have uploaded the graph below and all the other print outs I don't understand in case anyone else wants to review it and give me some feed back.
Mick explained he's changed the main jet to a 1.37mm and adjusted the setup accordingly so it fuels as required on WOT, however under part throttle it will not run rich and cause me huge fuel bills.
The one thing that he couldn't explain was the power delivery, which I probably confused........
When I got there, I explained it was running a T28 therefore it would probably be laggy and then hit hard up the rev range, however the graph shows it comes on very strong at 3 - 3.5k, but holds that power steadily. On many setups you would expect the power to rise further with the revs. He explained that if it did, he would expect a further 15bhp.
He explained it could be down to a few items, Turbo spec / characteristics or the IC and its set up (basing the IC comment on an incident he's seen previously with flow etc). He also commented that he expected it may be running an uprated cam???
In all honesty I'm more than happy with the 180bhp and wont go chasing another 15bhp. however I'm more than open to peoples comments / suggestions.

he coulda fueled that perfectly for 18psi and kept the stock main jet size thus not really increasing your fuel bills when cruising. im at 20psi on a stock main and actually looking at dropping the main jet size to gain more economy. tho good going, u got what u wanted :agree:
good stuff James pretty bluming scary when he's flying through the revs, i thort it would have made more than that only going on what mine made on the same rollers with my baby T2 but what do i know im just assuming, atleast your happy.:agree:
Do me a favor Matt, can you get a picture up of your graph, just want to compare it to mine. Yours made 160bhp right?
thats wat it said ye 160 but im lead to believe thats inaccurate.
I will get em up.
Inaccurate............ that's why we go to pod :D

there are others far wiser than me on the black art of setting up carbs but i woulda probably started with something like 120 main jet and a 120 second stage, if it was slightly lean the dropped the ac to a .90. ive got that with a 1.3 second stage and its good at 20psi. i tryed the same again with a 1.4 second stage and ran 26psi, held between 11.1-11.5:1 until it emptied the float chamber, resolving that problem now so will go at it again some time soon and see what shes doing then

Sounds interesting, I know ultimately a LM-1 etc is the required route. Then I can have a go at messing with the jets etc myself.
I presume you have a way of reading AFR's?
Matt, thanks for the pic's

The bms instead lol, have you priced the tyres for them  right im going to get this done if it kills me now
Where is your spolier dude :dearme:, car is still looking sweet mate.
phil

I'm actually getting all 4 replaced at the weekend. Found a company called event tyres, they will come to my door and replace them on my drive. Moving away from run flats, they are too harsh (as well as expensive) and all the reviews advise to go to non run flats.
Ive always rated Goodyear eagle F1's, they are £640 supplied and fitted.....bargain in my book, nearly half the cost of the bridgestone's!
Also well tempted to replicate the 5 and get my rims done a nice glossy grey!

Yeah im going to do the same, if i keep the bm, i think the runflats are £300 each for the rear and £250 for the fronts.
The f1 are great, had them on my evo, fantastic tyres. I had wanted to get them for my gt 16" arrows but they dont do a 195 40 16 :(
I just had a look through you profile car pictures, boxster :ashamed:, cut hair for a living do we

Nothing wrong with cutting hair! In fact, I cut all the guys hair in the Navy, I'm a sailor don't you know. At weekends I also like to do a little ball room dancing and cross dressing :p
Can't wait to meet you Phil x x x :ashamed:
