Morning All

Over the August bank holiday myself and fellow crazies are attempting a 1500 mile rally down through France, Spain and Portugal covering around 1500 miles in 4 days.

Simple enough?? Indeed, until you find out that the run has to be completed in a banger costing no more than £250 and that, rather than scrapping the car when we get there, we're driving it back too!!.....fingers crossed

We've bought a 1990 Alfa Romeo 164 for the job which has been decorated in the style of the 1980's film 'The Blues Brothers' and plan to complete the rally in themed fancy dress also.

We are raising money for gemin-i.org - an AIDS and HIV charity aiming to increase awareness in developing countries through hi-tech education solutions and hopefully we'll have a bit of fun along the way!

We are personally covering all of our expenses including the purchase of the car, tax, insurance, ferry, tolls and fuel which we estimate to be around £1000 in total. All of the monry we raise will go directly to the charity. We are attempting to raise an additional £1000 for the charity through our 'justgiving' site and another £1000 from other fundraising activity.

We are asking for very small donations to be made through our 'just giving' site, if you could just spare £2 we will be making progress towards reaching our target.

We've only just started our fundraising this week and have £500 pledged in corporate sponsorship already. It would be great to be the first team to reach their target and even better to beat the £8k record for the most money raised for this event.

Please take a few minutes to sponsor, we're not asking for any grand gestures - just £2 would be fantastic.

Many thanks

That's okay. It might actually make for a good little article in our newsletter :)
