View Full Version : Renault 19 alternator wiring
Just swapping over the alternations on my car, and there are different connectors for the wires. any clues on them?
Old one has B+ and B- and a brown plug which goes on it.
New one has B+ , W , + and L
Just uploading pictures now
Any clues on what goes where?
if you look at the size of the nuts and threaded studs
they can only be fitted one way .:agree:
B+ is the main live
+ is the yellow wire on the brown plug
L is the Green wire on the brow plug
W is supposed to be tacho (not needed?)
Where does the earth go?

location of the wires will be the same at the end of fitment .
its just a different pluggin system .
i.e = B+ will be B+
b- will be w
the wires on 2 wire plug will go the same positions on the
new alternator . you just have to crimp them with connectors
Ok cheers, ill wire that up tomorrow then :agree:
B- is not the same as the W, do not wire it up. It melts the wires. Had a lot of smoke coming off that wire which was not good :(
