im looking for a new tv for my bedroom & obviously want the best picture quality i can get.

would i be better of with a tv that had a resolution on 1024 X 768 & a contrast of 2,000,000:1?

or something with a better resolution & less contrast? such as 1920 x 1080 resolution but only 15000:1 contrast.

obviously high both would be best but as i said it's only for the bedroom so i dont want to go nuts.

colour contrast is the depth to what you see you colours as i.e how black the blacks are but there is no standard scale for colour contrast so varies between manufacturer. But you want as high resolution as you can and as low response time as you can find :agree:

It's difficult as Ross said there is no std manufactures measure contrast differently, what you need to consider is size and budget, however to choose any screen below 32" with 1080p should be seen and demo, a lot of reviews deemed 1080p worthless at this size.
