JB3 gearbox codes.

As in my project thread i have damaged the gearbox in the van.

I have a spare here, the code is JB3 01, What car is this from originally?

It was fitted to a gtt last, the box is essentially the same but there are slight differences in the casing, even has the hole for speedo pickup! Would the ratios be any good or should i bin it, as i need a box asap to get my van ready for santa pod.

Just found that myself Clee, if i take the number as 010 its either gear set A or C whereas the gtt is set B.

Ratios are like a foreign language to me though, would this be massively different to the gtt box.

JB3 is from a clio 16v (if i remember from memory) ..hope this helps brigsy :)

That has the same ratios in GTA atmo and turbo apart from 4th and 5th so no real advantage for the 1/4 .

001 or 010, ratios are the same, basically it's a diesel box, final drive is slightly longer than GTT, so nice long legged cruising, but, it's a wide ratio box, so big rev drops between gears. It'll get you out of the desert, but I wouldn't chose to use it.
