Note to self, Sometimes ya Dad is right. Even though its his fault because he made me watch Dukes of Hazard as a kid.

LOW car + Railway Crossing + Plus Speed = Broken Car.

Engine out job this is, well it would be easier. Cam Covers off, belt off, engine retimed etc.

Once again massive thanks to my mate jamie who recoverd me on his rally car trailor (he wont see this) Also big thanks to Big Hewitt and Mini Hewitt for the lift home.

When i saw cloudes of smoke behind me I pulled over and switched engine off.

I think the can ran for about 40seconds after the damage. I pulled over looked under car thought "fVCK me the oils spilling out of my car" and knocked her off.

From what I remember i still had oil presure and no warning lights come on. Im lucky in the respect that the oil filter is attached to an oil cooler and oil pump assembely and not the block.

The filter is mashed, the oil cooler unit is fubared and ive even broke the bolt and the cast ally part of the pump housing.

ACE. (sarcasm)

Out of interest, what did they total the damage at? Hopefully you won't have to pay anything on your excess.

Yeah I have to pay £250 on my excess. Mitsubishi wanted £700 plus Vat in Parts and 10 hours labour.

Thats about £1500.

Im very fortunate to not pay my own insurance. I'm reduced to 2 years no claims but Im 30 now so insurance aint so bad anyway.

I pay £118 fully comp on the 5 (yes its not a turbo) but thats like nearly Free LOL
