diesel tuning

has anyone done any tuning work on a diesel??can anyone recomend anyone/advise?
i know chips and fuel pressure mods are about but also thinking of fap filter+cat removal and isssues with turbo changes.
i hate diesels but iv found myself the owner of a free tractor today so thinking of playing with it abit!!

fap filter, is it a peugeot? if so the EMS will spaz out if you take it off

butane injection is supposed to be a good alternative to nitrous for a dirty dervil

Bin the cat. The fap will probably have to stay unless you fancy limp home mode!

don't bin the fap, as the ecu is expecting a pressure drop across the unit.
what you can do, it take it off and use a pressure washer to clean out all the ash. - do it from both ends of the unit several times. - however....
DO NOT DO IT NEAR ANY WATERCOURSES, HEALTH INSPECTORS OR GENERAL BUSYBODIES. - as the stuff contains Cerium which is deadly to fish.

this is basically what peugeot do with their replacement ones, old ones cleaned out! bit of a con really when some are £500, and you still have to send the old one back!

its a renault 2.0 turbo lump.engine code is M9R.
I have a clip so i can re-prog the injection to not having a fap which will allow me to remove it and the cat but will it pass/fail an mot without either of these?
i mat just give it a go and put it on the smoke tester and see what results i get!:sad2:

re map is the way to go, forget chips and tuning boxes, i tried these on my cdti only 8 bhp gain ,binned them and got a good remap and gained 36 bhp and 57 nm of torque, what gains can be had by removing cat??? also what is the fap? will my astra cdti 1.7 have 1??

if the cats not there then the system will be more free flowing hopefully!fap filters are like another cat they are an emissions control.massive lump in the exhausts which are insanely expensive!!!
im going to try and get a pipe made which will bypass the cat and fap and check the emissions.if there way out then i may try some sort of external wastegate/sreamer pipe :confused:
yea i need to find somewhere local that will map it.
then its just a case of turbo and cooler maybe!!

is pug engine turbo diesil? whats power now? theres plenty places including mobile chip tuning around , you can get 30 % increase on power and torque will be available from any gear
