hi could anyone clear this up for me? on the block of the renault 5 there is the oil pressure sensor coming off the block with a banjo bolt, then a straight connector connecting to the oil feed pipe for the turbo, inside that straigh connector it looks like a tyre valve inside, is this a one way valve??? also does it need to be in?? if i blow through it air goes through both ways, is this right or should it onl go one way? does this mean the valve has failed? what could this cause?i have another spare one but i cant seem to blow through that any way, so is that one seized? appreciate any help on this as im wanting to get car running this weekend thanks
Yeah thats the one way valve, you should only be able to blow through it one way, namely the route oil takes to get to the turbo
if the one way valve wasnt doing this could it it cause any problems?

Yeah, if it was stuck open the turbo would only have a tiny bit of oil on start up for a few seconds, won't a massive amount of damage once but have this happen everytime you start the car and it goes without saying a turbo spinning without oil is bad.
If it was stuck closed however I'd say your turbo is gunna be sreaming for oil

Fail, i binned mine with no problems on the van a long time ago;) The oil pressure builds up as quick on cold start & i have gained a couple of much needed psi oil pressure.
Look at other turbo cars, not many have a one way valve fitted in the oil feed.

good stuff so would leaving the one i have which leaks both ways be ok?? so dont need to buy an adapter to take its place?
i just took mine off & joined the turbo oil feed to the banjo mate, no adaptor needed. I do have a custom oil feed though, the o.e might not work.

i have a braided one with an aftermarket oil pressure adapter plumbed in so it might be long enough. so would you just leave the faulty one in or remove it completely??
