First post!

hi, i was driving down the road when i noticed the temp gauge went sky high so i pulled over and found a water pipe from back of carb had spilt and droped all the water out,
iv just had the head skimmed and fitted new gasket and bolts but when iv started it up after rebuilding her iv got water coming out through the turbo elbow and where the turbo joins to the manifold  i had the gasket laying around in my garage for roughly a year or so and wondered could it just be the gasket is nackered  it also had water spiting out the exhaust and the dreaded clouds of thick white steam? any help would be greatfull :sad2:

Do a compression test & go from there, might have cracked a liner?

Have you checked the distance between the top of the block and the top of the linears when the head was off?
(I do not know the right word. Maybe stand-off of the linears?)

its called liner protrusion, use a straight edge on the tops, number one being the greatest.

yeah the turbo does have a water jacket its a phase 2 car :) but when i took the head of the first time one of the liners poped up and i just pushed it back down not thinking anything about it :sad2: but iv been reading older posts and thay say that if the liner seals are moved then i have to change them
