View Full Version : stipping a 5, how hard to remove dash, what do people need

ok folks, a lad local has an r5 turbo that im allowed to strip for not to much, there is no engine but most other things are there..

How hard is it to remove the dash and where do i start, also what other things would people reccommend i get..


My list

Dash, full interior,

fuel pump

relays,

front hubs/suspension

any aei unit etc thats still left

exhaust

Dash is pretty easy to get out if you take your time. I cant remember exactly how I did it but remove everything that comes off first such as switches, steering wheel, fusebox, dials, temp controls, etc and that will give you an idea of where any fixings maybe. IIRC the dash lifts up to get it off the clips at the back and is also fixed in place with torx screws at the side. Its been a while so probably missed some other fixings. :)

Dash is so easy to temove, i did it in about 15 mins.. hold on have this link

I know it says how to change heater matrix but dash removal is included.

It isn't too hard, just take your time and label the wires if you haven't done a few already. Also pay attention to the route the wires take as when you put the dash back you can get problems with clearances and heater controls opening and closing correctly.
